He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Stewart and Ella Stewart (Chipman); and his siblings, Herbert Stewart, Earl Dean Stewart, Fern Beyer and Joyce Evans.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Stewart of Fairmont, MN; his sons, Thomas Stewart (Denise) of Kearney, NE and Lee Stewart (Melinda) of Fairmont, MN; his grandsons, Ben Stewart, Nick Stewart and Jon Stewart; and his siblings-in-law, June Anders (Jerry), Merle Gieseke and David Lenort. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
