He is survived by: his wife Ellen Schaefer; his children, Katherine and Mark Washa (Maria); his grandchildren, Nathan (Griffy), Noah, Joseph, Mark Jr. and Christo; his daughter Susan Williams (Scott); his grandchildren, Aaron (Amanda), Jacqueline, Zachary and Derek; his child Deanne Luhmann (Gregory); his grandson Jacob (Ashley); his great grandchildren, Kadence, Kanon and Alexander (Melissa); his grandchildren, Cory (Cas) and Katherine "Kate" Grathwohl; his great grandchildren, Daniele (Conner) and Matthew; his siblings, Sharon Kendrigan (Peter), Robert Washa (Nancy) and Mary Turek (John); and his siblings-in-law, Daniel Schaefer (Ursula) and Kathleen Gallagher.
