He was predeceased by: his parents, George Determan and Eleanor Determan (Zirbes); and his siblings, Virginia Weiss, Bernie Jernigan, Evelyn Evans, Beatrice Decker, Dorothy Pulka, Lou Ann Burns, Jean Timp, Ralph, Robert and Daniel.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Holinka; his children, Lori Determan (Joel) of Andover, MN, Mary Pat Pearson (Chuck) of Eden Prairie, MN, Mark Determan (JoRae), Paul Determan of Fairmont, MN and Jill Mathiason (Jeff) of Granada, MN; his grandchildren, Danielle Seitz (Jon), Mike Determan, Cole Pearson, Celia Pearson, Erin Moore (Cody), Miranda Mathiason (Jon Richter), Madeline Mathiason and Eric Determan; his great grandchild Ethan Seitz; and his brothers, Jim Determan (Ann) of Blaine, MN and David Determan (Jill) of Grey Eagle, MN..

The family asks that people are mindful of social distancing guidelines, wearing masks and best practices in helping to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
