He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Simser and Muriel Simser of Blue Earth; his wife Winn Ann; his sister DeeAnn Simser; and his sister-in-law Mary Zaun.

He is survived by: his sons, Bill (Amy) of Apple Valley, MN, Mike (Lynette) of Minneapolis, MN, Mark (Lisa) of Shoreview, MN and Dave of Coon Rapids, MN; his siblings, Carolyn Fischer (Tom) of Mason City, IA, Tom Simser (Jayne) of South St and Mary Beth Simser of Mankato; his brother-in-law Dick Zaun of Roseville, MN; his grandchildren, Andrew, Adam, Allison (Jaye), Ben, Nick, Jack, Luke and Dylan; and his niece Mary Jo Haaland of Marshall, MN..

Visitation was held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lakeview Funeral Home (205 Albion Ave, Fairmont, MN 56031). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 25th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, October 25th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. John Vianney Catholic Church (901 S Prairie Ave, Fairmont, MN 56031).
