Buchmeier of Fairmont, Minnesota, born in Lake Park, Iowa, who passed away on July 10, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Thielvoldt and Magdalena Thielvoldt (Boese); her son Harold Jr.; and her daughter-in-law Valdin Buchmeier (Bonni). She is survived by: her husband Harold Buchmeier; her sons, Valdin Buchmeier (Sharon) and Randy Buchmeier; and her grandchildren, Heidi Veith (Brian), Justin Buchmeier (Shonna), Kyle Buchmeier (Paige), Eric Buchmeier (Lindsay), Rachel Beckwith (Scott) and Alisyn Buchmeier. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren.

Prior to Covid, Irene enjoyed attending school concerts, dining out with friends at club and church dinners, and playing cards with other residents in her apartment building.
