He is survived by: his wife Velma Blinkman; his children, Leo Vickerman and Ellen Varner; his grandchildren, Jonathan, Carrie, Janelle, Christopher and Elizabeth; and his stepdaughters, Nancy Benson (Ronald) and Dawn Becker (Neal).

The family requests memorials be given in Jerry's name to Grace Lutheran Church of Fairmont and the Fairmont Lions Club.
