He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale Smith and Lorraine Smith (Bellock); his brother Richard "Dick" Smith; and his parents-in-law, Gordon and Lola Swanson.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Smith of Fairmont, MN; his children, Julie Werner (Rodney) of Ceylon, MN, Shelley Tan of Prior Lake, MN, Mark Smith of Fairmont, MN and Daniel Smith (Nikki) of Lewisville, MN; his grandchildren, Adam Werner, Amber Wolfe (Adam), Luke Werner, Andrea Morrow (Weston), Nicholas Dittmer, Oliver Tan, Brooke Smith, Mitchell Smith, Jordan Smith and Addison Smith; his great grandchildren, Briggs, Evan, Lauren and Juna; his sister Sandra Schlomann (Mark); and his sisters-in-law, Beth Smith, Judy Siebert (David) and Pamela Casey (Ronald). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
