He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Weir and Chloris Weir (Sayre); his wife Vonnie Weir; and his brothers, Roger, Eugene and Robert.

He is survived by: his sons, Brett Weir (Caroline) of Laguna Beach, Robert Weir (Deb) of Hazen, Garth Weir of Las Vegas and Erik Weir of Sherburn, Minnesota; his close friend Pamela Abelson of Fairmont; and his siblings, Tom Weir (Jan) of Mankato, Jack Weir (Linda) of Gary, Mike Weir (Bev) of North Mankato, Mary Beth Bushlack (Gary), Carmen Meyer (Dave) and Jeanine Sargent (Jim) of Madison Lake, Minnesota. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
