He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ernest Lemke and Frieda Lemke (Bremer); his former wife Ruth Brammeier; his wife Ruth Lemke of Fairmont, MN; his children, Steven Lemke (Shirley) of Brillion, WI, David Lemke (Ellyn) of Ft. Dodge, IA, Douglas Lemke (Kay) of Ceylon, MN, Sharon Ellrich (Tom) of Roland, IA and Daniel Lemke (Jackie) of Madison Lake, MN; and his grandson Dustin Daniel Lemke. He was also cherished by 18 grandchildren and step grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
