He was predeceased by: his mother Sophia Rose; his grandson John Mahoney; his parents-in-law, George and Frances Sickler; and his brother-in-law Leonard Pierson.

He is survived by: his spouse DeElda Sickler; his children, Judy, Steven, Kathleen Van Iten (David) of DeForest, Wisconsin, Janet Verret (Phil) of Blacklick, Ohio and Judith Mahoney (Dennis) of Wheaton, Illinois; his grandchildren, Ben Van Iten, Kristin Ferris (Mike), Philip Verret, Tim Verret, Jeremy Rose (Rachael), Graham Rose (Krista) and Rayni Pemble; his great grandchildren, Kayla, Amber, Sophia Ferris, Rylee, Brynn, Brooke, Bronson Rose, Dennis and Matthew Mahoney; his siblings, Viola Pierson and Herb Rose (Jane); and his siblings-in-law, Zelda Christian, Terri Envey (Greg) and Ralph Gunderson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many loyal and loving friends.
