He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Brenden and Peggy Brenden; and his brother Tom Brenden. He is survived by: his sister Mary Beth; his brother-in-law Tom Dries; his nieces, Jennifer Nelson (Aleks), Lauren Dries and Maggie Dries; his uncle David Golden; and his grandmother Michelle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hammer Residences, Inc. or The Assistance League of Mpls/St.
