He was predeceased by: his parents, Rose Schaffer and Paul Schaffer; his former wife Darlene Schneider; and his brothers, Alex and Gerry.
He is survived by: his wife Rhoda; his sons, Mark (Libby), Dean (Cherlyn), David (Brenda) and Darin (Leslie); and his siblings, Diane DeRosier (Larry), Mary Hansgard (Roger), Lynda Schaffer, Kathy Zimmer (Dave), Elmer (Terry) and Paul (Sook). He is also survived by six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren.
