She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Engblom and Amy Engblom; her brothers, Ray Engblom and James Engblom; and her grandsons, Franklin, Alexander Sawvel and Easton Chalich.

She is survived by: her husband Richard Sawvel; her children, John Sawvel (Marla), Jeanne Sawvel, Peggy Chalich (Mike), James Sawvel and Rita Sepin (Ken); and her sisters, Laura Montoya and Laverne Scott.

Joyce Irene Sawvel née Engblom passed away 12/5/18 at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
