He was predeceased by: his daughter Bernice Stefanich; and his grandson Jeff Stefanich. He is survived by: his wife LaVerne "Lovey"; his grandchildren, Kristin Pikula (Travis), Alicia Prebarich (Matt Hoffmann), Amanda Molde (James), Marissa Prebarich, Alexandra Prebarich and Matthew Prebarich; his sisters, Rose Dzubnar of Eveleth and Lucy Fosmo of Ishpeming; and also, Steve (Grace) of Longmont, Douglas and Peter (Ann). He is also survived by great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren.
