He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred P. "Shorty" Romer and Bertha "Berts" Romer (Angove); his sisters, Betty Olson, Susan Romer-Harris (Phil) and Peggy Romer-McCarthy; his in-laws, Jack and Mutsie Redmond; and his sisters-in-law, Midge Redmond, Louise Redmond and Peggy Redmond.

He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his sons, Ryan (Spring) of Ham Lake, Allen (Kendra) of Cambridge and Reid (Katy) of Vadnais Heights; his grandchildren, Louis, Leo, Lillian, Addison, Claire, Paetyn and Maren; his brother Richard (Winston Welch); and his siblings-in-law, Eric Olson, Pat McCarthy, John (Dianne Gundy), Tom (Sonjia), Peter, Steve (Deb), Mark (Marianne), Keith (Cheryl), Scott, Glenn, Marty (Sheri), Chris Thielke (Vic), Marilyn Rossman (Mark), Heidi Munter (Paul), Rita Kealy (Kevin) and Kelly Pudlick (Damon Ford). He is also survived by numerous extended family and friends.
