He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo L. Gams and Mary Gams (Prebonich); his wife Patricia Mott; his siblings, Joe, John, Carl, Mary Jane and Teresa Gams; and his granddaughter Trista Gams.

He is survived by: his children, Bill (Vickie), Steve (Melissa), Alan, Rose, Kathy and Kris. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
