He was predeceased by: his parents, Swen Harju and Elaine Harju; his wife Alice Luomanen; his former wife Judy Sarvela; and his children, Melanie and Michael.
He is survived by: his children, Lance Harju (Candy) of Moose Lake, Lee Harju (Kris) of Sturgeon Lake, Lyle Harju (Lavita) of Wyandotte and Michelle Graham (John) of Cambridge; his stepsons, Randy Broady (Peggy Schmidt) of Cloquet and Daniel Broady (Patricia) of St. Cloud; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Brandon, Payton, Michael, Lynzie and Daniel; his great grandchildren, Aurora, Arlo and Bellamy; and his siblings, Kenny Harju of Kettle River, Conrad Harju (Gail) of Mahtowa, Kevin Harju of Duluth, Helen Madsen (Robert) of Wellsville and Lois Desmedt of Anchorage, Alaska. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
