He was predeceased by: his parents, Nels Magnuson and Anna Magnuson; his wife Diane Holzmer; his daughter Susan Tiessen; his sons-in-law, Ray Tiessen and Robert Kjerstad; and his brothers, Erling and David.
He is survived by: his children, Polly Cannon (Keith), Becky Magnuson-Kjerstad, Wendy Magnuson (Russ Haupert), Ross (Tami) and Scott; and his grandchildren, Jessica Allen (Emiliano), Chancey Tiessen, Jill Gustafson (Ryan), Janelle Hennen (Brian), Sherry Orrison (Rich), Aaron Haupert, Austin Magnuson (Becca Kuechle), Andi Magnuson, Collin Magnuson and Lauren Magnuson. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
