He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Drechsel and Bessie Drechsel (Grant); his wife Geneva Sumstad; his siblings, Laura Haarstick, Alfred Drechsel, Wilfred Drechsel, Donald Drechsel and James Drechsel; his siblings-in-law, Dorothy Drechsel, Diane Meder, Elaine Sydow, Loretta Sumstad, Edith Sumstad, Elizabeth Nelson, Gordon Haarstick, Chester Sumstad, Roger Sydow and Donald Sumstad; and his son-in-law John J. Jacobson.
He is survived by: his children, Delayne Drechsel (Sandra) of Erhard, Randy Drechsel (Jackie) of Fergus Falls and Darla Jacobson of Erhard; his grandchildren, Wes Drechsel (Tiffany) of Underwood, Adam Peasley of Erhard and Jenna Peasley of Erhard; and his siblings-in-law, Carol Drechsel of Fergus Falls, Shirley Sumstad of Menahga, MN, David Sumstad (Trudie) of WallKill, NY and Steven Sumstad (Regina) of Andover, MN. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
