He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil C. Carlton and Florence Vanstrom Carlton; his wife Ruth Russell Carlton of Emily; his brother Charles Vanstrom "Van" Carlton of Ball, LA; and his son-in-law Stanley Clark of Emily.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Clark of Emily, Steven Carlton (Katherine) of Emily, John Carlton (Janet) of Emily and Jane Hall (Jack) of Houston, TX.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
