He was predeceased by: his parents, Loren Hughes and Ellen Hughes (Kile). He is survived by: his children, David Hughes Jr. (Kim) of Outing, Greg Hughes of Emily, Dwayne Hughes of Emily, Richard Hughes of Fifty Lakes, Bea Carpentier of Rogers and Faye Hughes of Emily; and his sister Judy Stiner of Emily. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
