He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Weringa and Avis Weringa; his parents-in-law, Vernon and Frieda Johnson; his brother Charles Weringa; his brother-in-law Harold Prokop; his grandson Sean Beisch; his nephew David Weringa; and his niece Kimberly Hagedorn.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Weringa (Johnson) of Elmore; his sons, Bryan Weringa (Sara) of Ankeny, IA and Brent Weringa (Lynn) of Spirit Lake, IA.; his grandchildren, Ashley Beisch (Adam) of Boone, IA, Anthony Weringa of Ankeny, IA, Joe Weringa of Ankeny, IA, Annaliese Weringa of Ankeny, IA, Brandon Bethards of Ankeny, IA, Jerod Bethards of Ankeny, IA, Noah Bethards of Ankeny, IA, Ashley Weringa of Spirit Lake, IA and Aaron Weringa; his siblings, Cinda Ristau (Arnie) of Elmore, MN, Tom Weringa (Dawn) of Elmore, MN, Steve Weringa of Elmore, MN, Scot Weringa of Elmore, MN, Carla Prokop of Elmore, MN, Brad Weringa of Owatonna, MN and Eric Weringa (Michelle) of Winnebago, MN; his sister-in-law Marleen Libra (Jim) of Fairmont, MN; and also Terry. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren.
