She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Thompson and Annie Thompson (Hendrickson); her husband Ervin Maynard Gjerde; and her siblings, Herman, Norman, Rufus, Harlan and Hazel.

She is survived by: her children, Rhonna Jarchow (Bob), Dan (Kathy), Douglas (Denise) and Patricia Gray (Stuart). She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.
