She was predeceased by: her son Tom; her parents, Hubert Laurence Slater and Laura Hilda Slater (Vaske); her husband Richard Wagner; and her siblings, Bob, Art, Vince and Irene.

She is survived by: her children, Jennifer Wilson (Greg), Duane (Donna), Mitchell, Judy Christensen (Mark), Charles (Pauline), Rod Gillette (Carla) and Rick (Amanda); her daughter-in-law Kelly Hires (Keith); and her sisters, Vivian and Carol (Sioux Falls). She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.
