Edward O. De Boer Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 25, 2021, at the age of 88, Edward O. De Boer of Ellsworth, Minnesota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Boer and Martha De Boer (Ohling); his former wife Shirley Elaine Jansen; his sister Jeanette Popkes; and his brothers-in-law, Lammert Popkes and Ronald Drenkow.
He is survived by: his wife Faye Schilling-De Boer; his children, Lorie Groen (Mervis), Cheryl Groen (Orvis) and Mark De Boer (Kari); his grandchildren, Cory Groen (Tammy), Stacy Sneller (Chad), Lance Groen (Mandy), Evan Groen (Laura), Ethan Groen, Amanda Heiman (Jordan) and Andrea Kalkbrenner (Logan); his stepgrandchildren, Alexis and Zane Hiller; his great grandchildren, Aftin, Cade, Avery Groen, Taryn Odens, Presley Sneller, Briggs, Maddux Groen, Hudson Heiman, Rylee and Wren Kalkbrenner; his stepchildren, Dona Faye Kubat (Andrew), Lora Trebesch (Steven), Linda Roggenbuck (Michael), Stacey Roemen (Gregory) and Craig Schilling (Twyla); and his siblings, Orville De Boer (Joyce) and Gladys Drenkow. He is also survived by twelve step-grandchildren; thirteen step-great-grandchildren.
They lived in Ellsworth until May 5, 2016, when he entered the Minnesota Veterans home in Luverne, MN, due to Alzheimer's disease.
