He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Barnes and Helen Barnes (Van Norman); his son Thad; and his grandson James. He is survived by: his wife Holly Jenné of Ellendale; his children, Melinda Cowell (Shawn) of Ellendale, Jenne Wilkins (Mark) of Owatonna and Richard Barnes (Kristin) of Waseca; and his pet Tank. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
