He was predeceased by: his parents, George Smith and Margaret Smith (Luckert); his wife Darlene Smith; his siblings, Mildred, Evelyn, Edna, Irene, Orrin, Alvin and Bert; his brothers-in-law, Charles Dufresne, Maurice Kleve, Elmer Wilde and David Barkhuff; and his nieces and nephews, Connie Miller, Donna Wilde, Morey Kleve and Larry Wilde.
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Carole Neckar, Marlene Ellingson, Maureen Vosejpka, Gloria Klingstrom, Marcia Duncomb, Mary Lovik, Marjorie Bridgeman, Tom, John Kleve, Ken and Elmer Jr.; and his sisters-in-law, Barbara Barkhuff of Austin and Loreen Seely (George) of Osage, IA. He is also survived by the youngest child of eight with four sisters and three brothers.
