She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester David Cotéa and Isabel Julia Cotéa (Bistodeau). She is survived by: her husband Frank Ripley; and her children, Ellen Johnson (Bruce), Nancy Doucette (Jerry), Ann Ripley, Paul Ripley, Lisa Schmidt (Clark) and Carrie Ripley. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Joanne requested donations be made in her name to any Catholic Charities program.
