He was predeceased by: his parents, Albin Wahlgren and Johanna Wahlgren (Swenson); his parents-in-law, Henry and Irene Rocholl; his brother Morris (Ellen); his sister-in-law Susan Neuleib (Rocholl); and his nephew Shane Rocholl.

He is survived by: his aunt Alice Morrill; his wife Marlene Wahlgren (Rocholl); his children, Cristi Field (Tim), Colin Wahlgren (Jean) of Fergus Falls, Clark Wahlgren (Kathy) of Fergus Falls and Carter Wahlgren (Heather) of Fergus Falls; his grandchildren, Samantha Wahlgren (Myles Brisben) of Silverdale, WA, Bradie Wahlgren of Fergus Falls, Jessica Wahlgren (Steven Marlow) of Duluth, MN and Allison Wahlgren (Andrew Wendt) of Aberdeen, SD; his stepgrandson Ryan Field (Vanessa); his siblings, Alice Wahlgren, Donald, Albin (Marilyn) of Pewaukee, WI and Erwin (Marilyn) of Fargo; his parents-in-law, Ervin Rocholl (Camilla) of Underwood, Darvin Rocholl (Betty) of Erhard, Gary Rocholl (Susan) of Fergus Falls and Otto Neuleib (Kathy) of Erhard; and also, Nolan, Aksel and Olida Field. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
