He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Pohlman and Dorothea Pohlman (Beneke); his wife Lucille Marie Albrecht; his siblings, Sarah (Wilson), Alfred and Edward; and his grandchildren, Carey, Jeffrey, Billy Pohlman and Buxengard.
He is survived by: his children, Jan Lee Buxengard (Gary) of Caledonia, Arlyn (Jean) of Caledonia, Elden (Janell) of Caledonia, Gordon (Janet) of Caledonia and Lorin (Dorothy) of Wanamingo. He is also survived by his children and their spouses; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Houston County Fair or Houston County Historical Society.
