He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Schaap and Mary Schaap (Bolluyt); his siblings, Howard Calvin Schaap and Frieda Rispens of Lansing, IL; and his son-in-law Thor Hansen of Eden Prairie, MN.
He is survived by: his friend Lloyd Bremer; his wife Hattie Jean Schaap (Schelhaas); his child Carmen Hansen of Eden Prairie; his grandchildren, Kiersten Hansen, Thor Hansen (Kelsey) and Annika Hansen; his daughter Lisa Kelley of Woodstock, MN; his grandchildren, Brittany Wangsness (Chris), Austin Kruisselbrink (Allison) and Taylor Kruisselbrink; his daughter Heidi Eyestone of Northfield, MN; his grandchild Connor; his son Howard Schaap (Sy) of Edgerton; his grandchildren, Sommer, Micah and Aidan; and his sister Irene Feikema of Edgerton. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
Milt contracted a lung infection in November of 2020 and then Covid-19.
