She was predeceased by: her parents, John William and Gysbertje Vander Top (Ver Hoef); her spouse Nelvin Van Essen; her brothers, John, Dick and Jake; and her daughter-in-law Willie Van Essen.
She is survived by: her children, Ron (Deb Van Essen), Virg (Faye Van Essen), Ken (Diane Van Essen), Elaine (Lloyd Prins), Gloria (Brian Top), Marcia (Ryan Achterhoff) and Evonne (John Top). She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren.
