We are sad to announce that on July 13, 2023, at the age of 89, Howard Wesley Van Essen (Edgerton, Minnesota) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Jr. Essen and Frekea Van Essen (Jelgerhuis); his former wife Mary; his sister Grace Corbin; his siblings-in-law, Ralph Corbin, William Vander Werf, Peter Schouten and Betty Van Essen; and also, Peter and Cornelia Schelhaas.

He is survived by: his sister Gezena (Jo); his wife Judy; his daughters, Beva Snyder (Larry), Deb Christians (Rod), Gwen Kreun (Clyde), Chandler, Barb Van't Hof (Alan), Leota, Sharla Vander Woude (Leon) and Lori Boeve (Mark); his siblings, Jo Vander Werf, Rose Koele (Duane) of Sioux Center, IA and Larry Van Essen of Visalia, CA; and his stepchildren, Valerie Vander Top (Vince) and Preston Zwart. He is also survived by his children.
