It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Jean Sommerfeld of Eden Valley, Minnesota, who passed away on February 25, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Caswell and Mabel Caswell (Platt); her siblings, Raymond, Mark, Robert, Richard Caswell, Lois Satka, Margaret Krambert and Cheryl Almgren; and her son-in-law Fred Lalonde.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Sommerfeld of Paul's Lutheran Church; her children, Debbie Sommerfeld (Jim Otte), Robin Lalonde, Bill Sommerfeld and Chuck Sommerfeld (Jeannine); her grandchildren, Laura Stussy, Michelle LaLonde (Denny), Taylor Sommerfeld (Jon) and Taryn Sommerfeld (Joey); her great grandchildren, Liam, Quinn, Bridger, Asa, Evelyn and Eli; and her sisters-in-law, Ramona Neuman (Gordon) and Wanda Urdahl. She is also survived by numerous nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church (227 S Ramsey Ave, Litchfield, MN 55355). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
