He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Schmid and Lucille Schmid (Beach); and his sons, Gary and Daniel. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Sandey of Eden Valley; his daughters, Lori Utsch (William) of Richmond, MN and Dean Schmid (Deb Mahnke) of Coon Rapids, MN; and his siblings, Steven Schmid of McGregor, MN and Carol Baus of South Dakota. He is also survived by six grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
