He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Rauenhorst and Magdalen Rauenhorst (Dulas); his brother Leo Rauenhorst; and his brothers-in-law, Dick Miller, Tom Thielen and Harold Hassing.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon (Waechter); his children, Col Michael (Heather) of Harbor Springs, MI, Col Robert (Annette) of Meridian, MS, Joel (Tara) of Easton, MN, Dr Mary Bakken (SgtMaj Scott) of Sioux Falls, SD, Douglas (Tina), David (Amanda) of Nerstrand, MN and LtCol Paul (Tracy) of Eagle River, AK; and his sisters, Lorraine Hassing of Blue Earth, MN, Millie Miller of Austin, MN and Evie Thielen of Ames, IA. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
