It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mervyn Leroy Rud of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, born in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, who passed away on March 11, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Johannes Rud and Nina Zespy (Taylor); his grandson Brock Slater; his great grandchild Lucca Ayres; his sister Nyla Jean Gunstinson; his half-brother Russell Zespy; and his sister-in-law Judy Sawyer.
He is survived by: his wife Georgia Rud; his daughters, Denise Unseth (Monty) of Grand Rapids, MN, Mary Rud (Kenny Overton) of Horace, ND, Patti Rud (Brady Wiseth) of Mitchell, SD and Lori Kalash (Joseph) of West Fargo, ND; his siblings, Sharon Kalinowski of Karlstad, MN, Janice Baker of Moorhead, MN, Linda Odum of New Port Richey, FL, Delbert Rud (Jill) of Jackson, TN and Lewayne Zespy (Rud) of Tucson, AZ; his grandchildren, Michael Vervalen (Kimberly), Johnathon Vervalen (Kristen), Darren Spicer, Ashley Rud, Megan Rud, George Slater Jr., Lyncoln Huff (Joseph) of Isabella Kalash, JJ and Daymon Unseth (Alexis); his great grandchildren, Kinsleigh Rud, Carter Reinert, Hosea, Judah, Axl, Priya-Kate Slater, Isaiah Rud, Noah, Abigail, Ryker, Emily Vervalen, Lucian Ayres, Waylon and Lynnie Unseth; and his in-laws, Gary Ovsak (Barb), Gene Ovsak (Geri), Everett Sawyer and June Stevens (Todd). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
