Susan Marie Wormley Obituary
Sue Wormley, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all, made her journey to heaven on February 10th, 2022. Although she had been battling many physical ailments at the time of her passing, including M.S., COVID, and pneumonia, her mental strength and spirit never faltered.
Sue maintained a lifelong belief that "to love and be loved is the greatest joy on earth.". She spent her entire life acting on this belief, sharing and expressing it wherever she went.
Sue grew up in a big family. She spent her childhood surrounded by five siblings and a mother who expressed her love by working hard to provide for her family.
In high school, she flourished as a lifeguard, a cheerleader, and an accomplished player of the French horn. As she grew into adulthood, she continued delighting everyone she met, including a man named Steve, who would one day become her husband.
When it came time to build a family of their own, her love for others blossomed even further. Within a decade, she would proudly become a mother of four rambunctious boys.
For the rest of her life, she poured out her love and nurtured her family, watching it grow and getting to experience the joy of becoming a grandmother.
Sue adored her children and grandchildren, developing special, personal relationships with each of them. She proudly taught her boys to follow the rules but also to know when to stand up for themselves and others. Her favorite memories always involved being with family.
She loved being at the cabin, painting fingernails with her granddaughters, giggling with her grandsons, crafting, and taking family trips to the zoo. She also found every opportunity to swim, whether it be in a pool, a lake, or the ocean. She even accomplished a lifelong dream of hers by swimming with dolphins on a vacation.
Her kind, loving heart, and great sense of humor always drew people in, making her the center of attention wherever she went. Sue had a glowing smile, constant optimism, and unconditional love that was felt by everyone who met her.
With Steve by her side, she passed peacefully. Her legacy and greatest accomplishment are the family members she leaves behind, who each carry and live out her beliefs about love as their own.
Sue is survived by her husband Steve; sons Matt (Kelsey), Jon, Rob (Jessica), Zach (Sasha); grandchildren Emily, Haven, Molly, Gordy, Blythe, Brooks, and Rudy; siblings Keith (Angie), Larry, Terry (Rhonda), Judy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. Sue was preceded in death by her father, her mother, and sister Marcia.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the MS society.
