He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Cleveland and Margaret (O'Malley); his children, Deborah A. Samson and James P.; and his wife Mary Diamond (Diamond).
He is survived by: his children, Philip Samson, John (Kathy Koness), Anne Ames (Tom) and Michelle Maher (Bruce); and his grandchildren, Peter Samson (Jen), Mike Samson, Erin Lufholm (Mike), Sam (Katie), Tony (Bell), Jenny (Herbert Roldan), Stephanie Fredrickson (Todd) and Steve Maher. He is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren, beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Pregnancy Choices, Apple Valley; Grace Hospice, or St. Olaf Catholic Church.
