He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, Adam Smith and JoAnna Ehret; his sister Barb Heist; his in-laws, Leroy and Marlene Socha; and his siblings-in-law, Todd Socha (Mary), Trent Socha (Torrie) and Maureen Braatz (Lowell). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
