He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Swanson and Lois Swanson (Wahl). He is survived by: his wife Becky Leigh Beaudry; his children, Katie Kirchner (Bret), Erik Swanson (Amanda), Meghan Swanson and Andrew Swanson (Renee); his grandchildren, Rylan, Lillian, Addison, Elsie, Harper, Henry, Oliver and Piper; and his siblings, Gaylon Swanson (Karen), Carol Marquardt (Dorwin), Dave Swanson and Neil Swanson (Mary Jo). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
