It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of David Kamis of Dundas, Minnesota, born in New Prague, Minnesota, who passed away on January 9, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph and Josephine (Vochoska); his son Herbert Marco Kamis; and his former wives, Sandra and Stephanie Henriksen.

He is survived by: his children, Todd Kamis of Dundas, Leah Sirek (John Townley) of Owatonna and Jennifer Maxa (Chuck Worsfold) of Northfield; his sister Ruth Edwards (David) of Minnetonka; his grandchildren, Daniel Rezac (Rosanne), Melanie Rezac, Nicole Sirek and Brandon Maxa; and his great grandchildren, Blake, Grant, Sophia, Gabriella, Rylan and Lenna.

“I am so sad to hear of Mr. Kamis's passing. He was one of the most extraordinary teachers I had. He taught so clearly and gently that it was like coaxing artistic knowledge from deep within us. He made special time for me and let me use his classroom during lunch hours for vital alone time and never made me feel like a burden or bother. He was a very great blessing in my life.”
