He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Tinley and Bruce Tinley; and his brother Jim. He is survived by: his wife Diane (Page); his sons, Richard and Rory of Tacoma, WA; his brother Robert of Radford, VA; his siblings-in-law, Gary Page, David Page, Mary Cusick (Ken) and Joanne Page; and his nieces and nephews, Cullen (Andrea), Corey, Emily Cusick and Ryin Lowell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Richard's honor to Animal Allies, 4006 Airport Rd, or the Benedictine Health Center, 925 Kenwood Ave.
