He was predeceased by: his daughter Nancy Jean Olson; his parents, J. Alford Olson of Duluth and Helen Olson of Duluth; and his siblings, Glenn of Fergus Falls and Shelly Juola (Olson) of Duluth.
He is survived by: his wife Joanne E. Olson; his children, Thomas Olson (Debra), James Olson (Denise), William Olson (Moira) and Barbara (Steven); his grandchildren, Leah, Katie, Troy (Kailee), Trevor, Jada, Parker (Nicole), Brody (Nicole), Ben, Molly (Adam), Jack and Maggie; and his great grandchildren, Adler, Freya, Elena and Lowry.
