He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ryan and Loaine Ryan; and the mother of his children Dorothy. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ryan; his children, Julie A. Smith and James J. Ryan (Christine); and his grandsons, Jacob T. Smith (Breann), Daniel J. Smith (Cassie) and James C. Ryan (Allysa). He is also survived by numerous loving great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Dougherty Funeral Home (600 E 2nd St, Duluth, MN 55805). A memorial service was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
