With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald Haapanen (Duluth, Minnesota), born in Aitkin, Minnesota, who passed away on August 15, 2024 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Eero Haapanen and Edna Haapanen; his daughter Melanie; and also, George and Pearl Benney.

He is survived by: his wife Flo; his children, Dwayne (Dori), Robert, Derek, Melissa "Gus" Kriske (Tom) and Meredith Hinnenkamp (Jan); and his sisters, Kathy Blomdahl (Joe) and Yvonne. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
