She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Becker and Anna Becker (Radke); her husband Ranard Arends; her grandson Jesse Brewington; and her siblings, Dorothy Newell Smith, Evelyn Wahl, Betty Rahbel, Maxine Svendsen, Joan Holtorf, Richard, Victor, Walter Jr. and Fredrick.

She is survived by: her children, Terry Arends (Lynn) of Eyota, MN, Dawn Brewington of Dover, MN, Sandy Arends of Rochester, MN, Pam Louks (Joe) of Stewartville, MN, Jayne Wetzstein (Jeff) of Rochester, MN and Rhonda Jean (Bob) of Dover, MN.. She is also survived by 8 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

“I was blessed to have known Elaine for the past 22 years. She was such a kind, loving woman who made a positive difference in many students' lives when she worked at Dover-Eyota Elementary School. She was incredibly patient, positive, and encouraging as she supported students with special needs. Students and staff absolutely loved her! I know she is celebrating in heaven with her Lord and Savior. I will miss her kind spirit and her beautiful smile. Jeanne Svobodny”
