He is survived by: his wife Sue Erdahl of Donnelly; his daughter Amber Nelson (Patrick) of Barrett, MN; his stepsons, Richard McLaughlin (Jean) of South Korea, Michael McLaughlin (Jennifer) of Hoffman, MN and Tom McLaughlin; his siblings, Wayne Nelson of Barrett, MN and Barbara Michels (Dennis) of Yankton, SD; his grandchildren, Maxwell, Mason Nelson, Samantha McLaughlin (Migdalia), Morgana McLaughlin, Alayna Mehlhaf (Troy), Lauryn Ostenson (Mason) and Michael McLaughlin; his great grandchildren, Zara, Brenna McLaughlin, Dakotah Mehlaf and Wyatt Ostenson; his stepson Brian Erdahl (Ann); his stepgrandchildren, Kellen, Corrie and Charli of Morris, MN; his stepson Josh Erdahl; his stepgrandchildren, Beckett, Faith, Bryer of Alexandria and Aaron Erdahl (Kayla); and also, Bruce, Royce and Randy of Donnelly, MN..
