It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Emil Walter Sowieja of Dodge Center, Minnesota, who passed away on December 12, 2023, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sowieja and Anna Sowieja; his wife Dorothy Sowieja of John's Catholic Church; his son-in-law Raymond Kubat; and his siblings, Rose, Patricia, Helen, Mary, Leonard, Lawrence, Edward and Jerome.
He is survived by: his children, Charita Kubat of Owatonna, MN, Jay Sowieja (Mary Jo) of Dodge Center, MN, Barbara Kubat (David) of Rochester, MN and Roger Sowieja (Sue) of Dodge Center, MN; and his brother Emery Sowieja. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Emil's family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Prairie Meadows and Mayo Hospice for all of their care, especially during the challenging Covid times.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Prairie Meadows and Mayo Hospice.
