He is survived by: his children, Courtney Greenwaldt of Dilworth, MN and Brandon Birkeland (Elizabeth) of Portland, ND; his grandchildren, Isaac Ahlin, Dylan Hintzen, Audrie, Aspen Greenwaldt, Alexandra, Brookelyn Birkeland and Ava Lee; his siblings, Randy Heiraas (Cathy) and Wendy Grotte (Mark); and his nieces and nephews, Shawn, Ryan, Andrea, Jeff and Bryana.
